Yesterday, at 4:17 pm, I turned 15!!!! It was one of my best birthdays EVER!
I came to school and my locker was decorated with wrapping paper and balloons. FUN!
I got birthday hugs and songs all throughout the day :)
At lunch my friends found it funny to get a couple guys to make me stand up and have the WHOLE cafeteria sing happy birthday to me....urg
Went to Chili's and got sung to then....
Went to SWITCH and got presents from Mack and Sheri :) looove them!!!
Got sung to by about 15 people on the 3rd floor on the mic...haha :)
Went to worship and got pulled up on stage in front of mid high and Sr. high and got sung to then too!
BDE!
Thanks everyone that wished me a happy birthday!!! You made it even more amazing!!!

Any Ideas?
I had to write a patriotic poem for English today, and I'm wondering if you have any suggestions to make it better. It has to have a rhyme pattern of ABAAB, CDCCD; and 10 lines. Here it is:
Looking at a clear, crisp sky
and rows and rows of endless wheat
one can only wonder why
he had to leave; to fight, to die.
Why did he go, with no retreat.
In my heart I know it's true;
hoping he was not in vain
My soldier fired and he knew,
There was nothing more that he could do.
For aiding in our freedom's gain.
Thanks for readin' y'all!!

Fall Break!
It's finally here everyone!!!! I'm really excited about it!
We aren't going anywhere, so it's gunna be a good chill weekend for us.
However in the next couple of weeks I may be going to Jacob's Ladder with Lifechurch for a semi-fall break kind of thing! FUUN
What are you guys doing for fall break/ what did you do? Do tell!

NCHO results
*DRUM ROLL*
Yeah...I didn't make it. I did fine on the scale and the first etude, but when I got the the 2ND etude I made a couple small errors. I guess that wasn't good enough for them :( oh and of course sight reading was....well....sight reading. haha
NCHO has kinda turned into an all-state event. It used to just be regional cities in OK, but now it's from all over. Turns out there was only one cello that made it in 8Th, 9Th, 10Th, 11Th, or 12Th from Edmond, and that's saying something. No excuse but yeah, very interesting.
I guess I will just have to work harder next year! Or quit cello.... jkkk ;)
Thanks for everyone that prayed and thought about me though! I really appreciate it!
love all!

Look out!
Just a quick reminder for everyone out there, It's MRSA season yet again. There is a case at Memorial right now, so prayer would be much appreciated.
MRSA (in case you didn't know) is a staff infection that basically eats your skin. Nothing drastic like what you would expect to see in the movies but close enough right?
Just pray for me, I have two pretty big cut-like things on my legs from tripping at church :) It seems to be the only place I ever get hurt at lol. ( the funny thing was that I tripped over nothing and practically fell on my face. I bet they saved the security camera of it just because it's so epic :) ( I bet the show it at SWITCH.......oh dear....)
Anyway, be sure to wash hands and all that good stuff.....I know I wouldn't want something to be eating me.

Spanish is hard....?
For those of you who don't know, I'm working on my 10Th year of Spanish. Intense right?? When people hear that they often say things like " why?" "how did you do that?" "I don't see how you understand it" "I hate Spanish it doesn't make sense to me its SOOO hard!!" and the classic "can you speak it fluently???"
well, to answer the questions is a because I'm interested/credits, I went to Russell Dougherty where we started Spanish in kindergarten, when you take Spanish for soooo long you start to find that it's all kinda the same (and I can see where they don't understand it considering it's a whole different language ;), Spanish really isn't as hard as it seems, we just don't want to take the time to commit to it and aren't really forced to learn it, annnnd no, I'm really not all that great at Spanish. Sure, I can speak it if I have to, but other than that you wont find me rambling strange things walking down the hall :)
I had an AMAZING Spanish teacher last year, Mrs. Romburger. She showed us a poem at one time and explained, " I don't understand why you guys whine sooo much about Spanish, when English is the most complex language you could possibly try to learn." And the fact is that she is right! Once you get the basic structure of Spanish, it's pretty simple. English on the other hand is a tad more difficult. Here is the poem she showed us:
HINTS OF PRONUNCIATION FOR FOREIGNERS:
I take it you already know
of tough and bough and cough and dough?
-doe?
Others may stumble but not you,
on hiccough, rough, laugh and through.
Well done! And now you wish, perhaps,
To learn of less familiar traps?
Beware of heard, a dreadful word
That looks like beard and sounds like bird.
And dead; it's said like bed not bead-
for goodness' sake don't call it "deed"!
Watch out for meat and great and threat
(They rhyme with suite and straight and debt)
A moth is not a moth in mother
Nor both in bother, broth in brother.
And here is not a match for there
Nor dear and rear for bear and pear,
And then there's dose and rose and lose -
Just look them up - and goose and choose.
And cork and work and card and ward.
and font and front and word and sword,
And do and go and thwart and cart-
Come, come, I've hardly made a start!
A dreadful language? Man alive!
I'd mastered it when I was five.

PICTURES!!! YAY!!!
OK! well, it kinda worked.....there are a lot of pictures that didn't make it on here though. And they are TOTALLY out of order because I'm not sure and i can't move them. haha. ENJOY!
Kakum National Park; a walk through the canopy! (my mom looking down....)
We were there to pass out textbooks to school kids, sooo there I am! (5th grade..don't hold it against me) Nsawum Presly School.
A typical classroom in Ghana.
A preschool!!! They are soooooooooo CUTE!
5000 students in Akrapong waiting for textbooks. Whoosh that was a long day!
Another canopy view!
Traditional ceremonial dance preformed by some of the students in Nsawaum Presly school. They wanted me to dance. haha if only they knew that a white girl CAN'T dance.Yeah, you can ask me about pronunciation later ;)

Live Like You Were Dying
He said I was in my early forties, with a lot of life before me, when a moment came that stopped me on a dime.
I spent most of the next days, looking at the x-rays, talking 'bout the options, and talking 'bout sweet times.
I asked him when it sank in, that this might really be the real end. "Hows it hit'cha when you get that kind of news? Man, what'd ya do?" He said:
"I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing, i went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu. And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness I'd been denyin'"
And he said "someday i hope you get the chance, to live like you were dyin'"
I love this song. It has such a great message in it that I love being reminded of. Life is short, and it's a gift from above(also a song :)) I know there are soo many things i would do if i knew i had a limit of time.
What is something you would want to do if you knew you were going to die?
